Wimberley Valley Revisited was painted a couple of months ago during a private painting session with 3 terrific artists from the Wimberley area. This painting style is the one most natural to me - very loose, executed with very focused casualness to create a scene that's "alive" while using hill country winter's somber tones. To me it's music - listen and you can hear it sing. I often think of John Muir when I paint this kind of scene. Celebrate the commonplace - and be mindful of our role in it.
